Fruit of the considerable work of a couple passionate about wine, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud, Chateau Valandraud was born in 1991 on a 0.6 ha plot purchased with all the couple's savings.
The geographical location of this plot, in the Fongaban valley, near Pavie Macquin and La Clotte, is the origin of the name "Valandraud": Val (for valley) + Andraud (surname of Murielle which appears in the registers of Saint Emilion from 1459).
